Birthdays and Favors
August 30, 2008 | 2 Comments
Today I am throwing a birthday party for myself! It is also a screening party as I am going to show off a TV show pilot that I created and recently shot (wish me luck!).
I’m taking a short break from the madness of getting ready and came across this delightful little party favor. It is [...]

Ethical Women’s Clothing
August 28, 2008 | Leave a Comment
I was fortunate to hear about an adorable new line out of Melbourne, Australia. Heidi and Seek features fabulous little tops and dresses that are 100% original. Designer Hayley Lau sews each garment from reclaimed materials. These pieces are all one-of-a-kind or from a very limited edition.
Now you can look cute and be ethical!

I was browsing around the Internet looking for a tutu pattern for one of my sewing students, when I stumbled upon Simplicity.com’s latest ode to pet wear.
If you have always wanted to be Little Bo Peep but needed a sheep- nows your chance! Or what about dressing as the Princess and her Frog?
Pattern 2827 features [...]

Introducing Threadbanger Sewing Machines!
August 26, 2008 | 1 Comment
Janome has paired up with the fabulous Threadbanger to create some cool sewing machines.
TB12 features 12 stitches and a cast aluminum body. This machine is based on an older Janome model. As someone who sews solely on vintage machines because they are metal and not made of plastic like newer models tend to be- these [...]

Girls in Painted Dresses

I have decided that the best birthday present that I can give myself is to re-create my line of clothing. Yes, bring back Candiland clothing. I loved being a designer until one day I woke up and was so super burnt. It was about this time that I disciovered Craft TV Shows and fell in [...]

Or, Perhaps I should say Ferrarri as I’ll start ya off with the price- a whopping 9 G’s. But ohh- it is a damn dreamy sewing machine. Here is a blurb about it:
Brother’s Quattro 6000D has arrived. This “Mega Machine” has a built-in computer that can teach you how to get the most out of [...]

I have heard about Lori Marie from Pretty Little Things for awhile now, but this was the first time I ventured over to her site. ADORABLE! Everything- just absolutely adorable!
Her studio is so delicious, it looks like candy! And every thing she makes is cuter than the last. She is definitely on my inspiration list!

Sewing with Game Boy

As my birthday is coming, the number #1 thing on my birthday wish list is the Singer Izek Sewing Machine. It is SO cool.
It combines sewing technology with video game technology to create one very unique machine. A friend of mine has one and from what I can gather (as I haven’t really played with [...]

New and Improved tee-shirt make-ovah
August 17, 2008 | Leave a Comment
I am not really one to wear tee-shirts that say stuff. But when I was on vacation I went to the Seattle Mariners Stitch n’ Pitch. An evening of knitting and baseball- besides sewing and cocktails, my other 2 fave pastimes!
I was scoping around to find some ideas to transform my new Stitch n’ Pitch [...]
