Lookie what Nikkie from My Black Cardigan made! It’s a dress-up crown for her kids, and she made it from some tassle trim. She used fabric stiffener to turn the tassles into points on the crown. Read more about her project at My Black Cardigan.

Cathie Holden from Just Something I Made bought this old Singer sewing machine for $5. While the machine clearly is no longer working, she was still able to use it to make a project. Not by sewing with it, but by taking photos of the decals on the machine and cleaning them up on her computer. She used them to make a gorgeous journal cover, and offers the graphics on her website for you to use in your own projects. See what she made and download the graphics.

Jenny from The Kerr Family Blog found this eelskin bag at a local thrift store and bought it for a song. The only problem was that the handles had seen better days, so she came up with a clever solution. She covered the handles with velvet. Brilliant! Read how she did it at The Kerr Family Blog.

Cool idea: Tablecloth to dish towels

Kellie from Rice Babies created a Forest Friends theme for her son’s birthday, and gave out these woodland creature softies as favors. She used a dingbat font as her template for the animal shapes. Look at these spiky hedgehog purses by Joanne from Craft Passion! She was inspired by Lollypop’s tutorial for hedgehog softies, but made it her own by adding folded fabric spikes on the body and converting it to a purse. I love it!! Read more about her project and see more photos at Craft Passion.
