Hi all, this is Linda Lanese the felting editor and I am doing sewing posts for awhile along with the felting area.

Sewing Center USA, a Boca Raton, FL sewing store has a few good tips on their site. Especially good if you are sewing with mettalic thread.

Threads has interesting tips for sewing with silk.

Mom’s Patterns is a great online store for vintage patterns. They stock detectable pieces from the 1940’s through the 1990’s. Their prices are super reasonable and once you’ve made a purchase they periodically send out online coupons. There is even a “Special Trend” area as well as fabulous costume patterns.

So maybe now is the time to finally make that groovy bias hippie skirt you always wanted.

the only problem I can see with this plan  is of course not adding your fabric swatches as they come in  and them building up into just another “to do” pile of things.

Sew Trendy is brought to you by the home sewing Association and is a great starting point for your sewing teen.

The Sew Trendy program involves select high schools and their communities in a year long sewing and design project. Teens create or embellish a sewn item from either the fashion or home décor arenas. Then individual submissions will be judged and awarded in a Scholastic Style Show.
It is also a great site for individual Teens as there are some fun sewing projects. They have easy to follow instructions and the site is aimed at Teens making it fun and funky in appearance.

Ok I take back the organized bit, I would LOVE my room to be organized like this. In fact I am so un-organized that my “Craft Room” is still piled into boxes in the garage though even at it’s best is still looked a little more like this one than this OTT one. Secretly of course I want the OTT one.
