Craft Gossip

One of my favorite sewing techniques is to combine patterns. I love to take an element from one design and mix it with another pattern to create something that is truly unique.

For the dress for my Birthday Party, I did just that. Using Built By Wendy’s Simplicity 3964 for the main part and then the adorable puffy sleeves from FitzPatterns Mimi, I create a cute little mini that I totally love.

I even stumbled upon a flickr group who sewed the same pattern and did even more variations. Some cool ideas!

So the next time you see a pattern that may not have everything you want, think about combining it with another pattern to get something fabulously unique!

Okay, I’m off the San Francisco to continue my Birthday festivities! So when you hear from me next, I’ll be 33! (again!) Cheers!

    Happy Birthday Candi!
And don’t be so worried about your age. Us older gals have to show the younger girls that being in our 40’s is still glamorous.

Thanks… I think. Ah, but I’m not in my 40’s yet! I’m only mid-thirties. I just like the age 33 for the record! ;)
