I’m sure you guys are already familiar with Lil Blue Boo.  She’s well known for the way she combines knits and screenprinting to create unique clothing for children.

I’ve had a serious sewing crush on her for a while now.  It was her line of patterns and readymade clothing that had me seeing the items in my “donate” pile in a whole new light.  (My husband probably curses her for the stacks of old t-shirts that are now piled up in my sewing room!)

All of her patterns are fabulous, but my personal favorites are the Sienna Dress and the Recycled T-Shirt Hoodie.

But enough of my gushing….  (I could go on and on all day, but I’ll spare you.)  Let’s get on with the business of the giveaway!!  Lil Blue Boo is giving away one of her DIY PDF patterns to one lucky Craft Gossip reader.

To enter, leave a comment here and tell me what kind of kids’ sewing pattern you’ve been wishing for.  What style of clothing have you been wanting like everything to make, but haven’t been able to find a pattern for?

Deadline for entry is midnight CST on Monday, November 1, 2010.  I’ll choose one entry at random.

Oh, I would like to find a pattern for cute and comfy dungarees for girls age 2-6. My girls have finally grown out of their “baby” ones and they just can’t run around in skirts and dresses all the time (even though they try) – and I just think that dungarees are so cute and don’t hang halfway down my girls hips.

The Sienna dress is my favorite!! I just wish I had a serger!! Thanks for the giveaway!

My son LOVES hoodies, and I’ve always wanted an LBB pattern, so that’s what I’ve been hoping for! Thanks for the chance to win!

  5. Megan on October 25, 2010 8:52 am

I have been wanting to make my son some hoodies! I absolutely love her patterns as well and just have not been able to purchase any yet! This would be a great thing to win!

  6. Beth C on October 25, 2010 9:24 am

My daughter is soo into dresses right now. I love to make things out of repurposed items. Together, with the help of this pattern, I’m sure my 6 y-o would be very happy.

  7. Molly on October 25, 2010 9:44 am

I love hoodies on kids! So so cute!!

  8. Sally on October 25, 2010 10:11 am

Oh, hoodies. I would make a billion of them for my boys, who always want their hoods on, but their heads are too big for the hoods on toddler shirts!

  9. Amber F. on October 25, 2010 10:13 am

I’ve been searching high and low for a pattern to make toddler sized pants/trousers that have an actual button & zipper fly closure. Elastic waistbands have their place, but I’d love to have a nice fitting pair of real pants for my son.

I’d love to get my hands on that hoodie pattern, so thanks for the chance to win it!

  10. Tobie Martin on October 25, 2010 10:14 am

I always wanted to make leg warmers with funky colours. My daughter is potty trained but she need leg warmers to keep her warm. I couldn’t find any patterns for cotton jersey leg warmers.

    Thanks,
    Tobie

    Love the t-shirt dresses!

  12. Amy Kaufman on October 25, 2010 11:12 am

I have two little girls. I am looking for long sleeve fun ruffled dresses. I have found lots of short sleeve.. but in Minnesota it is way too cold. I want to find a pattern that can be made of warm material and is super comfy!

  13. Nancy on October 25, 2010 11:23 am

Now that it’s finally getting cooler here I want to make some hoodies for my son and a dressy christmas dress for my little girl.

  14. Emily on October 25, 2010 11:36 am

Hoodies and tops with large openings (since my daughter hates it when we have to pull tight collars over her head).

  15. Emilia on October 25, 2010 11:42 am

My boy may look smart with this hoodie. Love this.

  16. Melinda R on October 25, 2010 12:19 pm

She has some great skirt and dress patterns. I would love to win one of these to make for my niece (and maybe myself).

  17. Mary Pat on October 25, 2010 12:27 pm

I’m living overseas at the moment and don’t have ready access to a clothing fabric store or patterns, so I’d love a downloadable pattern. I have a 2nd grade boy and kindergarten girl. I’m always looking for boy’s patterns, esp. Unf. most of the things I think are “cute”, he’s embarrassed to wear to school …

  18. FeltLikeStitchin on October 25, 2010 12:53 pm

Great giveaway! I’d like to see more patterns for warm long sleeved girls’ dresses – cosy but funky!

  19. Felisha on October 25, 2010 1:03 pm

I LOVE LOVE LOVE her tee shirt dresses and was just thinking of trying one for my daughter! Shes a crafting artsy genius!

  20. Kirsten Tolbert on October 25, 2010 2:23 pm

I would LOVE a functional fall dress pattern!

  21. Letha on October 25, 2010 3:04 pm

I’ve been looking for a patterns for leggings and comfortable, easy on, east off dresses for my daughter. While I know I can make them from a t-shirt, tutes are usually based off of a pair they already own. Problem being, my daughter has SUPER short legs, very round tummy, and insanely long torso. Try fitting all three of those in one!

  22. Kelly W. on October 25, 2010 3:19 pm

I’m a HUGE LBB fan! I’ve started collecting t-shirts to make some hoodies for my little guys this winter. I’d love to see some BIG BOO patterns for the mommies!!

  23. Hailey on October 25, 2010 3:59 pm

I would LOOOVE to get my hands on some of her patterns. Sadly, finances make it extremely difficult to indulge on these right now. The hoodie pattern is to die for and my little guy wears one constantly right now. Thanks for the opportunity!

  24. Tracy Brannum on October 25, 2010 5:43 pm

I NEED the Sienna dress pattern!! *crosses fingers*! :)

  25. Sarah on October 25, 2010 6:46 pm

I have a HUGE pile of old knits just waiting for me to be brave enough to try. I want to be able to use the materials I have to save our family money. Patterns tend to scare me, and $ is always tight so I usually don’t “splurge” on patterns. I would LOVE the hoodie pattern!

  26. knitsewreadlove on October 25, 2010 7:53 pm

Oh gosh, ANYTHING knit! I’ve been afraid to sew with it since I’m so new to sewing, but hubs cleaned out his t-shirt drawer, and now I too have a pile of tees waiting to be (hopefully) upcycled. Since I have a little girl, any t-shirt dress patterns would be fabulous, though I second a post I saw above that mentioned leggings. My wee one is totally anti-blue jeans. Only dresses will do for her, and they get chilly in the winter… even in AL!

  27. Naoni McCurdy on October 25, 2010 8:26 pm

Where do you start with all of Ashley’s goodness!!! Just earlier today I was thinking of my poor boy with so few loved items from mom and the Hoodie pattern totally came to mind I just haven’t caved yet to buy it but that would be the one! (Please little boy needs more clothes for sure!) :)

  28. Erika on October 25, 2010 9:02 pm

The kids pattern I would love is something that is very tween without being skimpy and sleazy. Even better would be if it came in sizes 5 -12 (so something that would look great on any school-age girl lol).

Now of her patterns, I think I’d like to try the recycled t-shirt dress pattern the most

  29. Whitney Allen on October 25, 2010 9:07 pm

I’ve honestly just been wanting cute trendy boy clothes. Since I have a nephew and no niece I find it hard to find super cute clothes for boys… but everywhere you look there are girl clothes. It’s sad and my poor nephew is jipped. However I do love LBB patterns!

  30. Charlene on October 25, 2010 9:08 pm

Oh, I already have two of Ashley’s patterns, and love, love, love sewing with them.

I’ve been coveting the hoodie pattern. Would love to win it!!!

  31. Shannon Margaret Brott on October 25, 2010 9:11 pm

I am wishing for some more dresses and multi-piece sets from lil blue…I think she could really do some neat stuff with these items…. I have a couple of her patterns and I am learning so much from her…..LOVE YA LBB…

  32. Katie on October 25, 2010 9:11 pm

I’ve been dying to try the sienna pattern. I would love to win :)

  33. Kerry on October 25, 2010 9:23 pm

I really want the recycled T-shirt into a hoodie pattern – I was oogling over it the other day!

  34. Jeanne J. on October 25, 2010 9:39 pm

I love the hoodie pattern. I would like to see a pattern for elastic waist pants with a flat front for little boys (6, 9, 12, 24 months).

  35. Mama Lusco on October 25, 2010 9:57 pm

I love LBB and still need her Twirly Skirt pattern. I’d also like to find more women’s PDF patterns.

  36. Jenninbrissy on October 25, 2010 10:13 pm

I would love the Sienna Dress pattern to go with the LBB Sally Dress pattern that I’ve already bought :) .

I would love to find more simple style little girl’s dress patterns so I can make more dresses for my girls :) .

  37. Rachelle on October 25, 2010 11:19 pm

I love the Sienna pattern, and can’t wait to find some time to make a bunch of these for my girls. After moving twice in the last 2 years (what a lot of work!) I started purging all of our old clothes. But since I spotted the Sienna pattern a few months ago, I’ve been saving t-shirts, and even bought more of them for the sole purpose of cutting them up! My 2 year old and I recently made some upcycled circle scarfs that would look great with an upcycled dress. http://tinkerlab.com/2010/10/24/printed-upcycled-circle-scarf/

    Cheers!

  38. Cam on October 25, 2010 11:43 pm

The LLB Sienna Dress pattern is AWESOME!! I’d love one in adult sizing.

  39. Tina @ Squirrel Acorns on October 26, 2010 4:27 am

I have the hoodie pattern but I haven’t had time to make it yet (been busy crafting Halloween costumes!). I don’t have a specific pattern that I would want, but in general I’d love to see more Boy Clothes. There is just so little out there. And when you do see it, it’s geared towards little ones, not my big 8yo. I guess maybe designers think that bigger boys don’t want mama sewing for them anymore? I don’t know, but I know my 8yo still loves for me to make him cool things. I can’t wait to get started on the hoodie because I think that would be considered a “cool” thing.

  40. Barb on October 26, 2010 4:28 am

I love the recycled t-shirt dress! My 3 year old will only wear dresses now, and the twirly-er and stretchy-er the better! There aren’t that many knit dresses out there so this is great!

  41. susan@tickledpaisley on October 26, 2010 4:43 am

My daughter is so into dresses right now – how much fun would it be to make one of these!

  42. Leah on October 26, 2010 4:52 am

Ohhhh love these patterns. I would love a pattern for a long skirt, because it seems hard to find them for my girls. Thanks for having the contest!

  43. kim cady on October 26, 2010 4:59 am

I’ve been looking for a warm legging pattern for my little one to wear under dresses. She had a pair as a baby and I’ve been unable to find any since! Wouldn’t the Sienna pattern look cute with some warm leggings?:)

  44. Jaime on October 26, 2010 5:02 am

I own and LOVE to use the Sienna pattern. What I really need is an easy pattern for leggings that fit really good but I would also love LBB’s Halter/Tie-back dress!!

  45. Alanna on October 26, 2010 5:24 am

I would love a t-shirt dress or skirt pattern – I have the hoodie pattern and I LOVE it!

  47. Ricki Duke on October 26, 2010 5:31 am

  51. Cheryl A Enyart on October 26, 2010 6:01 am

Lots of patterns for girls… but boys is another problem, always have been… I want patterns to sew for my grandsons. I have 3 a newborn, a 5T and a teenager. When Grandma sews they seem to get left out.. anything for boys would be wonderful

  52. deidre e. on October 26, 2010 6:13 am

  53. Annette Crain on October 26, 2010 6:26 am

It would be so great to find more toddler JUMPER patterns! My little granddaughter, Chloe, absolutely loves jumpers. She would wear one everyday if she could. They are so simple to make and versatile, can be worn with underlayers or not year-round. I love your patterns!
    Keep up the good work.

Actually, the recycled T-shirt hoodie looks like something I could make for either my granddaughter or grandson!

  63. Mindy Huffman on October 26, 2010 7:46 am

I would love to find a pattern for leggings for older girls. My daughter is almost ten and a TALL ten, and I can’t find a pattern for leggings that will fit her. I prefer working with digital patterns because I do NOT like tracing paper patterns, but I haven’t been able to find one. ASHLEYYYY!! Help a sista out!! =O)

  64. MMW on October 26, 2010 8:04 am

I would love to have both patterns for my girl and boy! Cute ideas. Wish I had the imagination to make these myself.

I would love to find patterns to help me make playclothes that my kids can dress up in but also be able to wear out too. Something imaginative but not over the top or made out of thin material.

  65. Kezia on October 26, 2010 8:26 am

I love Lil Blue Boo! I have so many old t shirts that my husband won’t throw out for “sentimental reasons.” with her patterns I could make clothes for my daughter and at least could throw out the hole-y parts. The sienna dress is so cute, too.

  66. Vanessa on October 26, 2010 8:28 am

I’d love the new doll dress pattern. I have the other patterns and I make them all the time. My favorite is the Sienna dress for my daughter! I’d love to make matching doll dresses!

  67. Lisa K. on October 26, 2010 8:30 am

I’m an avid quilter, but I’ve only made a few garments, and only one of them has been knit. I’ve been looking for a raglan sleeve tee shirt after drooling over the ones from Ottobre patterns. Your fave pattern up there in your post looks like the perfect pattern for my daughter!

  68. Rachel Salazar on October 26, 2010 8:54 am

I am always making things for my only little girl..and my two little boys tend to get a little jealous! So, I would love the hoodie pattern to make them a couple of cute shirts for fall! Thanks for the giveaway!

  73. Joy Toal on October 26, 2010 10:00 am

I’ve honestly been wanting the LBB patterns, but haven’t had the finance to purchase or the time to sew… BOTH patterns are great, but I haven’t a clue how to make a hoodie, so I guess I would prefer the hoodie (my daughter would be disappointed, but she already has 2 LBB creations, so it’s brother’s turn right?).

  74. Brandy on October 26, 2010 10:04 am

I love the recycled t-shirt hoodie pattern. My kids can always use long sleeves.

  75. Teresa Verhoestra on October 26, 2010 10:47 am

  76. Amy on October 26, 2010 11:53 am

I love LBB’s patterns! I make the Sienna dress often but have wanted to try the twirly skirt. The pattern I have most been searching for is a good mini-sleeping bag for kids.

I love the twirl skirt. The Sienna is great but my girl’s are too big for it. It would be nice if it went up to size 14. I’m looking for a raglan tee pattern for myself, but can’t really find any for women.

  81. terri sue on October 27, 2010 11:42 am

i’ve got a very tall for her age but tiny around granddaughter. i would like to see a raglan sleeve t-shirt because the shoulders of regular ones to accomodate her right go way down her arms. and i also would like to see a legging pattern. to get the right length we almost have to tie a string around her waist to keep the leggings from falling down.

  82. Kayla on October 27, 2010 12:00 pm

I’ve been looking for good winter patterns, especially shirt patterns with different sleeve options for cold or hot weather. I would love to have the Sienna pattern!

  83. Janet on October 27, 2010 5:36 pm

I have been looking for patterns that I can make unisex for my two little girls and soon to be preschool boy we hope to adopt next year. 95. Shelly on October 31, 2010 8:05 pm

I really need that Sienna Dress pattern! I’ve seen creations from it all around and I love it, and I, too, have been saving t-shirts with the intent of making clothes for my toddler out of it. I initially thought maybe I’d improvise my own pattern, but that’s not working so well. I need Lil Blue Boo!
