Brenda from Therapeutic Crafting shows how to make her Perfect Bag with a gathered panel across the front.  It has plenty of pockets – 6 on the inside, 3 on the outside – as well as a magnetic snap to keep it closed.   The handles are long enough to sling easily over your shoulder, but not so long that the purse gets in the way.  Get the tutorial.
