Trisha from TLC Stitches shows how you can achieve the look of a piped seam without the fuss of creating and stitching in a separate piece of piping.  Instead, she uses her “faux piping” technique.  She shows it as a binding for a quilt, but this same finish would work on any straight seam.  It would be gorgeous on purses, pillowcases, curtains, etc.  Go to the tutorial.
