A Pretty Patchwork Shower Curtain to DIY

A Pretty Patchwork Shower Curtain to DIY

With some easy patchwork you can create a one-of-a-kind shower curtain for your bathroom.  You can use patchwork to create a look and a color palette that matches your décor perfectly.  Sew Can She has a tutorial showing to make one.

If you know how to sew and have redecorated a bathroom lately, you may have thought about sewing your own shower curtain.  Why limit yourself to the shower curtain designs in the stores when you can make your own and choose exactly the colors and print you like?

But the thing about sewing your own shower curtain is that you’ll inevitably have to piece the fabric.  Fabric yardage you buy at the store just doesn’t come in the size that you’d need to make a curtain out of a single panel of fabric.  And you can certainly find ways to camouflage the piecing, like using two seams oriented closer to the sides rather than one seam right down the middle.  But what if you did the opposite and made the piecing the center of attention?

The tutorial at Sew Can She shows how you can make a patchwork shower curtain.  No need for large pieces of yardage – this patchwork shower curtain is made from fat quarters!  It’s all straight seams, and because the pieces you’re sewing together are nice and large, you won’t spend a million years putting it together.  And look at how cute it is hanging up!  I love it sewn out of colorful florals.  It’s gives a happy, cottage-y vibe.  But you could make it in neutrals for a more subdued look.  That’s the fun of patchwork – there are endless combinations of color palettes and prints!

Once you’ve got your patchwork panel all sewn together, it’s not hard at all to turn it into a lovely shower curtain for your bathroom!  Go to Sew Can She to see how to sew a patchwork shower curtain.
