Book Review – Crafting With Flannel

March 17, 2021 by Anne Weaver

Book Review - Crafting With Flannel

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for writing an honest, unbiased review.  All opinions are my own.

Crafting With Flannel is filled with creative ways to use flannel to make adorable accessories, home décor, bags, and more.

I think we all have favorite blogs we follow.  Blogs that, when the name shows up in a link or a post on our Facebook, we know we’re gonna see something good.  Sadie Seasongoods is one of those blogs for me.  So when I found out that the blog’s author, Sarah Ramberg, had a new book out, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and see what wonderfulness she had come up with.

Her book, Crafting With Flannel: A Beginner’s Guide to Making Gifts, Accessories& Home Décor, is packed with 55 adorable craft projects you can make from flannel.  I want to make them ALL.  From jewelry to home décor to accessories and gifts, there are SO MANY cute things to make from flannel!

Whether you’ve got flannel yardage or some old flannel shirts you want to repurpose, this book has you covered!  Some projects work best with yardage, while others make use of the details found on flannel shirts.

The instructions are easy to follow and most projects are things you can make in an afternoon or less.

Some of my favorite projects include:

  • Braided flannel bracelet – So pretty!!
  • Tooth fairy pillow – The tooth/money pocket comes from a flannel shirt!
  • Flannel and cork coasters – These would make awesome gifts!
  • Scrunchies – What’s not to love about scrunchies?  And made from flannel, they’re super cute!

But of course these are just a few of the projects I love from this book.  With 55 projects to choose from, you’re bound to find plenty of flannel sewing and crafting inspiration in Crafting With Flannel!
