Create the Perfect Summer Top: A Quick and Easy Sewing Project

September 19, 2025 by Shellie Wilson

Tina is a summer top pattern, is the easy two-hour project I’m sharing with you this weekend. The trend this summer is to wear bike or yoga shorts. Personally I find it awful, however, I can appreciate the practicality of this trend. It allows people to bike everywhere and teamed up with the right top and a small jacket it can even make it as an outfit for casual Friday’s at the office.

An A-line sleeveless top that you can make in two hours. This summer top pattern comes in sizes 8-20 and will cover your bottom. Made in a very flowy silky fabric it can be the perfect companion for riding back from the office.

This summer top pattern should be a staple in your collection. Cinched around your waist with a belt, tucked in with a pencil skirt or just on top of bike shorts or capri pants will be a very practical item in your wardrobe.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
