Anyone else tired of making masks?
Don’t feel guilty – just make something else for a change. Our awesome doctors and nurses also need scrub hats, head bands, ear savers…
If you still want to help, but want a little break from mask making, make SURGICAL / SCRUB HATS with this easy step by step tutorial.
This scrub cap is super easy to sew and has just two pattern pieces – a great project for beginner sewists that are eager to help the medical workers or for the crafty medical workers themselves. this simple scrub hat design whips up in as little as 15 minutes so you can make a bunch to rotate them more often or sew up more to help more people get a hat in these times of need.
The hat in the tutorial has few options – you can either make it in one color, or use two different fabrics for a more fancy look. You can add an elastic at the back of the head if you want to go for a more fitted style, and finally you can sew on two buttons on each side of the hat to attach the mask ear loops to and reduce the strain on the ears. One simple design – so many options! Just try it!
