Free pattern: Color block pleated dress for little girls

March 14, 2014 by Anne Weaver

colorblockdressDaniela from Cutting Room Floor shares a free pattern for this color block pleated dress for little girls.  It’s an A-line dress with color blocking at the hem.  One deep pleat is folded into the center of the dress.  For the closure, there are buttons down the back.   The simple lines and color blocking give it a retro mod vibe.  The pattern comes in sizes from 12 months to 8 years.  Go to Cutting Room Floor to download the pattern and get the tutorial.

DIY Shirt Extender – Sewing Pattern

I like having a little extra coverage when I wear leggings, but I could never find a cute top that was just the right length. So I decided to make this Easy Sew Shirt Extender! This is so simple to sew and is an easy sewing project for beginners. It is easy to layer under your shirt or top of choice and I added some lace trim to mine for a fancier look. You can mix and match colors and fabrics to suit your needs!
