Kate from See Kate Sew shares a free pattern for a simple baby top or sundress. It has a basic bodice with ruched straps and a gathered skirt (make it long for a dress, shorter for a top). Her pattern will make a dress to fit a baby 3-6+ months. If you need a smaller or larger size, the sizing should be fairly easy to adjust. Go to her pattern and tutorial.

This fleece lined button scarf is just the thing to keep your neck warm on a cold winter day. Whether you’re out running errands so you’re in and out of the cold, or you’re staying out in the cold for a period of time, this button scarf is just what you need. Lindsay from Lindsay Sews shares a tutorial at Sew It Yourself showing how to make this cozy winter accessory.
Lately I’ve been loving a short neck scarf or cowl like this one. Keeping my neck warm does wonders for keeping the rest of me warm. And a short scarf like this one doesn’t have long ends that get in the way.
And the great thing about this fleece lined scarf is that it unbuttons so it unbuttons. This allows it to fit snug around your neck but also be easily removed. So it’s easy to put on when you’re popping outside for a bit, and then just as easy to remove when you come back inside.
The scarf has a simple rectangular shape so the seams are simple. The outside is a basic quilting cotton. There’s a minky fleece (or cuddle fabric) lining that’s super soft and warm against your skin. But if you’ve sewn on minky before you know it can be a little tricky. It likes to stretch and move while you’re sewing! Lindsay has a post on her blog, Lindsay Sews, that gives her best tips and tricks for working with this fabric.
The tutorial also includes a quick how-to for making a wristlet key chain. If you make the wristlet from the same fabric you’ll have a coordinating set. These would make great gifts for friends and family!

The pattern has the shape to cut for the bodice. Her tutorial gives the dimensions to cut for the straps and the skirt pieces, which are both just rectangles so they should be easy enough to cut without requiring a pattern. –Anne
