Kate from See Kate Sew shares a free pattern for making a toddler’s tankini bathing suit. It’s actually an adaptation of her summer baby dress, and it retains the look and feel of a summer dress. It has a gathered skirt on an empire waist and little ruffles on the shoulders like flutter sleeves. Made into two pieces and from a swimsuit fabric, it is super cute for pool time. Her free pattern will make a size 18/24 months. If you need another size, you could probably adjust it a size or two pretty easily. You could also adapt a basic dress pattern that fits your child, using her pattern as a guide. Go to See Kate Sew for the pattern and tutorial.
