Free pattern: Women’s blazer, plus a sew-along

vintagebuttons11-wMelissa from Blank Slate Patterns and Melly Sews is hosting a sew-along to make a women’s blazer.   Hers is made from a gorgeous blue velvet, but any heavier weight fabric would work.  And if you can wear a size small, she’s got a free pattern for you to use.  If you need another size, she provides a link to a good pattern to use as well as information on drafting your own pattern from a sloper.  (Her pattern will make a blazer with these finished measurements:  bust, 35?, waist 31?, 20? length from back neck.)  Go to the first post in the sew-along here.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!
