I was looking for a tutorial for corded handles, but they all seem to require a speciality presser foot (called the “narrow presser foot“) because of the tight sewing alongside the bulky cord. This process of wrapping the fabric around the cord while sewing requires skillful manipulation of the fabric and cord, to give a snug wrap and neat stitches. It can also be taxing to a basic sewing machine.
This can be intimidating to many beginner sewers.
So, I tried an easier method that does not involve all that unpleasant pinching and tugging, with only a regular presser foot. It worked perfectly! My blog post has all the details and photos.
