Kataryna from Sew Chibi shows the Nyan Cat and Tac Nayn dresses she made for her daughters. The outfit is her response to the monthly Sew Geeky challenge she co-hosts with Max California. The theme this month is 8-Bit Babies.
She made both dresses using the Scirocco pattern by Figgy’s. Like all of the clothes she makes for her girls, these dresses are packed with innovative details. On the back, a cat tail peeks out between the layers of the skirt. She made coordinating cuff pouches to hold small treasures. But by far my absolutely favorite detail (the one that had me scraping my jaw up off of the floor) are the stripes on the bodice. They’re interactive! The kitty appliques actually slide up and down the stripes. GET. OUT. Go to her blog to get the full scoop on her 8-Bit Babies dresses.
Oh, while you’re there, be sure to enter her giveaway. She’s got a copy of the Scirocco Figgy’s pattern to give away to one of her readers. And if her geeky fashion has you inspired to sew your own 8-Bit Baby outfit, link it up in their Flickr or Pinterest.
