There was a time last year when I almost quit sewing altogether. The irony wasn’t lost on me – I’d turned my passion into a career, only to find I no longer enjoyed it. The pressure to constantly create content, to always be “on brand,” to produce perfect project after perfect project… it sucked the joy right out.
What saved me was going back to basics. I spent a month sewing just for me – no photos, no tutorials, no pressure. Just me and my machine, making terrible wonky things that would never see the internet. It was glorious.
Now I keep one day a week as a “no content” day. Sometimes I sew. Sometimes I don’t. But I always remember why I started this journey in the first place.
