Medical workers prefer masks that tie behind the head as opposed to elastic ear loops as they rub the back of the ears and cause terrible irritation. This super easy face mask uses clothesline/shoelace instead of elastic and is super easy to sew, even for beginner sewists.
There are two sizes to choose from – adult and kids. The design is really forgiving and the tie design helps the mask mold to the face and prevents gaping of the sides.
Just 7 straight stitches and the mask is done. It features filter pocket for those who prefer to add an additional filter and (optional) nose wire piece.
The “Fast and Easy Mask” has both written directions with a ton of step by step images AND video tutorial for the visual learners.
All you need is: fabric, tie, basic sewing notions and few spare minutes of your time. The design is super simple, and the tutorial basically guide you through every step of the way, so that you can sew up this NO elastic face mask even if you are a complete beginner in sewing. It is so simple, that if you can sew a straight stitch and follow directions, you can sew it!
