Phone Loop and Lanyard – DIY Sewing Tutorial

November 13, 2020 by Anne Weaver

Phone Loop and Lanyard - DIY Sewing Tutorial

Many times we don’t have enough hands or pockets to carry our phone. Some people constantly misplace their phones. Others of us need our phone with us at all times, even in the house in the event we fall or have an emergency requiring help. Joy from Joy’s Jots, Shots, & Whatnots shows an inexpensive, quick way to make a loop on your phone from small fabric scraps so it can be worn on a lanyard which you also can make.  With the lanyard, your phone can be worn around your neck or the lanyard looped through a belt loop, and placed in your pocket meaning less chance of it falling out of your pocket and losing it.  Smart!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
