Okay, I admit it, I adore pincushions. I’ve been known to make these for gifts and have even demonstrated how to make them on TV. I have 5 or 6 gracing my sewing table at any given time (I know a bit excessive!)
With Spring so abundantly clear here in Los Angeles, my thoughts turn to flowers. Looking out the window of my studio, I see my beautiful pink roses climbing up the wall and absolutely fabulous Bird’s of Paradise (the Official Flower of LA, I might add) in full bloom. Why not mix these natural wonders with my other obsession- Sewing.
Floral pincushions are a fun project that takes very little fabric and very little time. As something you use every day in your sewing life, a pincushion is the perfect way to show your personality and pizzazz in sewing, with very little effort.
Tammy’s Times features a fun floral shaped pincushion using remnant fabric. This easy pattern is such a great basic. I used light blue and peacock colored felt, fuchsia embroidery thread and a whimsical button to create the pincushion in the photo. And, it took less than 20 minutes to complete!
