This curve top zipper pouch is a fun sewing project you can make in an hour. It would make a great pencil pouch to hold pens, pencils, and other office supplies. The size is also good for a cosmetic pouch for travel. Zipper pouches are just so handy! Heather Handmade has a tutorial and free sewing pattern you can use to make your own curve top zipper pouch.
Even if you’ve never sewn a zipper before, you can make this pouch! All you need are fabrics for the outside and the lining, plus a 12” zipper. You can keep things simple by using a single piece of fabric for the pouch sides, or add a few extra steps to make a beautiful pieced rainbow for the pouch sides. I’m kind of in love with that pieced rainbow design!
If you love rainbows, too, here are some other fun sewing ideas with rainbow designs:
This rainbow pillow at Bombshell Bling is so cute and happy! It would be pretty in a child’s bedding set or as an accent pillow on a front porch bench or swing. The stylized rainbow can be made in different colors to your style and décor. Go to Bombshell Bling for the free sewing pattern.
A little felt rainbow and cloud makes a cute cat toy. It’s all made from felt so it’s easy to sew. A bit of catnip inside the cloud and the rainbow strips hanging down make this a fun toy for cats to play with. Get the free pattern at Orange Bettie.
