Sewing Tips to Sew a Face Mask

May 3, by Anne Weaver. Leave a Comment

With everything going on in the world and not enough medical grade face masks to go around, there might be a need to make your own. There are lots of free patterns and tutorials to make your own, but here’s some tips to sew a face mask and what fabric to use.

Don’t want to make your own but buy a readymade mask?  So why should you buy a handmade mask? Because obviously you can’t sew one or you would be making your own, so put a few dollars into someone else’s pocket and keep a handmade business alive.

Looking for more information about face masks, filters and the best DIY type of masks? Check out this article.

We talk about all the different filter options, the best fabrics to use and how to make a mask if you can’t sew or only have limited supplies to make your masks.

Not up to making your own surgical masks? You can still buy handmade fabric masks on Etsy.  And it is a great way to support a local handmade business owner.

Check out this article about all the different options for safe and suitable mask filters.   Wondering how to strengthen your mask? Add interfacing. We also found a supplier for the metal nose clips.

We have also added a tutorial for making the Face Shields for medical staff which can be found here.

Need to make a lot of masks? Check out this amazing Mask Cutting Machine. It cuts 6 masks out at a time!

Wanting to create your own custom face mask? Check out this Website that allows you to design your own mask with ,photos, font and colors.
