Vintage doilies are so sweet and delicate, but what do you do with them?  Bev from Flamingo Toes has a wonderful project that makes use of a vintage doily.  She embroiders some spring flowers on one and then uses it as focal piece on a decorative throw pillow.  She has a tutorial and free embroidery pattern on her blog, so you can make your own embroidered doily pillow.  Vintage doilies are pretty easy to find at estate sales or antique stores.
