After more than 20 years of blogging about sewing, crafts, and DIY, I have seen a lot of creative websites come and go. Some were full of inspiration and community, and some just slowly disappeared as social media took over. That is why SewShare caught my attention. It is not often that something genuinely new launches in the sewing community, so this feels refreshing.
SewShare is a new online platform for sewists, sewing pattern designers, and the wider sewing community. It brings together digital sewing patterns, sewing tutorials, community forums, and educational resources all in one place. For anyone who loves sewing, that already sounds like a step in the right direction.
What I like most is that it feels built for real sewists. Instead of trying to fit sewing into a generic marketplace or social platform, SewShare seems focused on creating a proper home for sewing lovers. They are launching with more than 1,500 digital sewing patterns, community features, video content, and even an AI sewing mentor called Sewpedia . They also have Mood Fabrics involved, which gives the platform even more appeal for people looking for sewing inspiration and supplies.
I was also really happy to see Vickie Howell involved as Chief Creative Officer. Vickie actually used to write for us back in 2008, so seeing her name connected to this new sewing platform made it feel even more special.
For me, the biggest appeal is that SewShare seems to understand how scattered the online sewing world has become. Sewing patterns are in one place, tutorials are somewhere else, and community chats happen across social media. Having a sewing platform that brings patterns, learning, and community together could be exactly what many sewists have been missing.
It is still early days, of course, but I am genuinely excited to see a fresh new sewing website launch with this kind of focus. After watching so many DIY, knitting, and sewing websites fade away over the years, SewShare feels like a welcome new addition to the sewing world.
If you love sewing patterns, sewing communities, and discovering new sewing resources online, SewShare is definitely one to watch.
