Once I started using pattern weights to cut out my sewing projects, I was hooked. They’re sooo much easier than using straight pins! But what I WASN’T hooked on was the cost to buy a set of them. Luckily, it turns out that you can create your own pattern weights out of a variety of materials.
In fact, Debbie from Squigggly Twigs Designs shares a tip for using a common kitchen item as a pattern weight. I won’t give away the surprise, but I can tell you that if you eat like a normal human being then you definitely have this in your kitchen. Intrigued? Go to Squiggly Twigs Designs to see what she uses.
