I was excited to try the True Bias Rio Ringer T-Shirt & Dress Pattern. The vintage look of the contrasting ribbing on the neckline and short sleeves intrigued me and sent me back to the 90’s. The pattern comes with two views, a fitted top and a semi-fitted dress, both of which can be made using light to medium-weight knit fabrics with 40% or more stretch such as cotton interlock, organic soy knit, and merino wool jersey. The ribbing can be made from a knit fabric with 75% or more stretch.
Overall, I found the pattern to be well-written and easy to follow. I appreciated that it was categorized as an advanced beginner level, as it gave me a good challenge without being too difficult. I ended up making the fitted top and was really happy with the results. The fabric choice made a big difference and I think using a knit fabric with a bit more stretch would have made it even better. The final product fit well and the contrasting ribbing added a fun touch. I would definitely recommend this pattern.
