Summerset Banks from Pins and Needles shows how to create a pattern for a modesty panel for shirts with low-cut crossover necklines. The modesty panel creates a piece of fabric across the lower portion of the vee that looks as if there is a cami layered underneath it. Go to the tutorial.

I would like to insert something like this on a premade dress. The bodice is a cross over and goes a little too low. Any ideas?

Can you insert a piece of contrast knit behind, and then stitch in the ditch of the binding (if there’s binding on the edge) to keep it in place?
