Sewing Tutorial: Adding patchwork panels to jeans legs

August 1, 2009 by Anne Weaver

patchworkjeanslegs

Lily from Block-a-Day demonstrates a fantastic way to upcycle your jeans by adding patchwork panels to the bottom of the legs. This technique not only transforms plain jeans into boutique-style fashion but also serves as a creative and budget-friendly solution when dealing with an unexpected growth spurt! Instead of buying a new pair of jeans, simply extend the legs by adding fun and colorful fabric panels. The result is a unique, personalized look that’s both stylish and practical.

Lily’s tutorial guides you through each step, ensuring that even beginners can follow along and create something beautiful. Whether you’re looking to save money, breathe new life into old jeans, or express your creativity, this project is a must-try. Head over to Block-a-Day and learn how to make your jeans stand out from the crowd!

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
