Making softies often involves sewing small parts to a body. You might think that hand sewing is best for this step, but Abby Glassenberg from While She Naps, and author of Stuffed Animals: From Concept to Construction recommends sewing them on with your sewing machine. The machine sewn parts will hold up better to wear and tear. Sometimes you get lucky and the part can be sewn into an existing seam. But other times you’ll need to make a small slit in the body and insert the part there. Abby Glassenberg from While She Naps shares a video tutorial showing how to do it.
