Sewing Tutorial: Bias tape pumpkin Halloween pillow

September 28, 2014 by Anne Weaver

Tutorial: Bias tape pumpkin Halloween pillow

Steph from The Silly Pearl shows how you can make this bias tape pumpkin Halloween pillow.  If you’ve never used bias tape before, this is a project to show off its magic bendable property.  She uses repositionable adhesive to hold it in place while you’re stitching it down.  If you don’t have any of that, you could also use a glue stick.  (Just be sure to iron your piece before stitching on your machine to make sure that all the glue has dried.)

Pillows are a great way to quickly change the decor in your home, throw some cushions or pillows onto a couch, and change the look in an instant. DIY Pillows add seasonal colors and characters to any room.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
