Tutorial: Denim and stars pillow cover

June 20, 2014 by Anne Weaver

Tutorial: Denim and stars pillow coverKarin from Leigh Laurel Studios shares a tutorial at the Sizzix blog showing how you can make this denim pillow cover with appliqued stars.  The finished dimensions are 12″ x 16″, a standard boudoir size.  A hidden zipper in the side allows you to remove the cover when needed.  There are 14 stars appliqued on the front.  She used her Sizzix to cut out all of them.  If you have a die cutter, it’s a quick and easy way to cut out all those small shapes.  But if you don’t have a die cutter, you can cut them out by hand.  Go to the Sizzix blog for the tutorial.

Easy Cosmetics Bag Sewing Pattern

The bag is simple, uses very little fabric (about 2/3rds of a fat quarter), has no fussy inside pockets (although you can add your own if you like), and takes me well less than 30 minutes to print the pattern, cut out and sew. But quick and simple doesn’t mean it’s not awesome!

It’s the sort of bag that is versatile enough to be used for lots of applications, not just cosmetics and toiletries. Keep all your pens and pencils in order, use it for a small first aid kit for the car, keep it in your desk at work for a few headache pills and other personal supplies.

Make some for yourself, for gifts or to sell.
