These leaf pot holders by Cheryl from Sew Can Do go from oven to your table, serving a double function as pot holders and hot pads. She shares a tutorial showing how to make them. The leaf shapes celebrate the autumn season and will be pretty as part of your Thanksgiving table spread. She makes them with a solid fabric on one side, and a leaf print on the other. Go to Sew Can Do to see how to make them.

Pot holders also known as Heat pads are perfect little weeknight projects. Perfect for scrap fabrics and small handmade gifts that will actually be used in the kitchen. If you love hot pads as much as I do, then you may want to check out some of our favorite designs for sewing patterns we found on Etsy.

Where did you get your insulater fabric? Is it asbestos cloth? I looked at Joann’s Fabrics online and did not find anything. I looked online and found companies in China and India. 🙁 Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

She uses Insul-Bright. You should be able to find it at JoAnn. I’ve bought it in their store a number of times, though I’ve never ordered it from them online. In the store, it’s with the battings. –Anne
