Heather from Feather’s Flights shows how to make a flounce ruffle. Unlike a gathered ruffle, which gathers a long straight piece of fabric, a flounce uses a curved piece of fabric to create a ruffled effect. The inner part of the curve is stitched to a straight piece of fabric, causing the wider bottom of the curve to flare out in graceful ruffles. Go to Feather’s Flights to see her easy method for cutting the curved pieces.
