If you’re making a purse and want to make the straps adjustable, you don’t have to use expensive hardware slides. Angela from Sew Loquacious shows how to make fabric slides for adjustable purse straps. Go to the tutorial.

I was wondering if you’ve actually made this adjustable strap. The straps are “free sliding” so when you load your bag, don’t the straps just slide together? There is no stop like like you have on regular bag slides. On the original post, one person who made this said that after loading her bag, the straps opened to it’s widest setting because the bag was too heavy. Thank you.
