Tutorial: Flat-bottomed zippered pouch

April 3, by Anne Weaver. 3 Comments

Maryanne from Sew Together shows how to create this cute flat-bottomed zippered pouch.  The flat bottom lets the pouch stand up on its own, and creates space to hold bulkier items.  Her tutorial shows how to draft the pattern and sew it up.  Get the tute (at web.archive.org).

This sewing tutorial shows you how to sew the flat bottom into place and then finish off with a zipper. Such a simple pouch that can be used for storage or use delicate fabrics for evening wear clutches. A fun sewing project that is perfect for anyone who is just starting out with bag-making and learning to sew zippers.

this looks quite interesting especially since I was thinking that I needed a wedged type pincushion deal under my tablet if I use it on a lap board. Maybe just forego the zip and fill it? Makes a cute pouch though too! LOL
