Freezer paper stencils allow you to create detailed images on fabric. The glossy side of the of the freezer paper temporarily fuses to the fabric when it’s heated with an iron, so there’s no paint seeping under the edges of the stencil. But a detailed image means cutting a detailed stencil. You could do it by hand, but if you have a Silhouette (or other digital cutter) you can let the machinery do the work for you.
