Pockets are must for me in my pants and skirts. If they’re not there, the garment just feels… incomplete. If your sewing pattern doesn’t include pockets, you can always add them in. RaeAnna from blog Sewing Mama RaeAnna shares a tutorial at The Sewing Rabbit showing how you can add inset side pockets to any pattern. I especially like this style of pockets for pants. The scooped out pocket fits smoothly across my hip, and you can put contrast fabric on the back just for kicks. Go to The Sewing Rabbit to find her tutorial.
