I think bias tape is a little bit magical. It’s looks like a just straight bit of fabric tape, but it can be easily coaxed into a curve.  It finishes off raw edges neatly and prettily (especially if you use patterned bias tape, my favorite). Ashley from Make It and Love It explains what bias tape is, how you can make it yourself, and how to use it in your sewing projects.  Her tutorial includes written instructions and a video.
