Anne-Marie from Neverwares shares a tutorial at Pattern Patter blog showing how you can make a pair of harem or palazzo pants. Because the fit is so loose through the legs, it’s easy to create your own pattern based on your measurements. The only difference between the harem and palazzo styles is the elastic at the cuffs of the harem pants. (To make palazzo pants, just omit the elastic.)

I don’t like a lot of fabric moving around my ankles. So as personal choice I would definitely prefer Harem’s over Palazzo’s since the movement of fabric is limited.
Looks like a really comfortable pattern for vegging out at home.
