Susan Khalje shares a tutorial at Threads Magazine’s website for making thread bars for garment closures. A thread bar is a sturdier version of a crocheted thread chain, and can be used in place of a metal “eye” in a hook and eye closure. Go to the tutorial. I appreciate the recommendation for this tutorial, but I don’t appreciate having to be come a Threads Insider to look at it, even on a trial basis.

Oh, I totally get what you’re saying. I don’t like the Threads Insider deal either. When I originally published this post two years ago, this article was free. It looks like they’ve gone back and added the Insider requirement in order to view it. –Anne
