A belt with a buckle has a certain amount of flexibility in sizing. You can easily go up or down a buckle hole or two to adjust the fit. But when it’s so much too big that even the last buckle leaves it hanging loose, you’ll need to shorten the belt itself. If the buckle is sewn on, that’s a fairly easy task.
