Paula Cheney from the Tim Holtz creative team shares a tutorial over at Sew4Home showing how to make this gathered fabric bloom. The contrast-y stitching and raw edges give it a shabby chic look. It’s a fairly large bloom, using a strip of fabric 5″ x width of fabric (usually 44″). She glues the flower (and some leaves cut from wool) to a wood dowel stem. A yard of fabric would make 7 flowers, enough to fill a vase. Go to Sew4Home for the tute.
