I love a peasant dress for summertime wear, but what about when the temperatures start to dip? Amy from Little Bean Workshop guest blogs at Prudent Baby with a tutorial for making a long-sleeved version. The construction is the same, but the pieces you cut for the sleeves will be different. They share the measurements for cutting a sleeve for a size 2T, but you could easily adjust it up or down as needed. Go to the tutorial.

What kind of material is this? Have been looking for this all over, I am new to sewing and wishing to know more about materials.

The tutorial doesn’t specify a fabric type, but if I had to venture a guess about the fabric in their example, I’d say it’s a quilter’s weight cotton. You could also use a lightweight corduroy for a heavier dress, though I’d caution against using too a stiff fabric for this. –Anne
