I like a table runner for adding personality and color to a table top without covering the whole thing in fabric. Natalie from The Creative Mom guest blogs in the A to Z series at The Ribbon Retreat with her tutorial for making a table runner. She gives cutting instructions to make a table runner that is 14″ wide by 7 feet long. You can easily adjust the cutting dimensions to make one in any size. You can make them from any type of fabric (I’d suggest quilting weight cotton or home dec weight cotton), and add your choice of trim to the end for personality.
