Shauna from Shwin & Shwin shows how to make a baby dress using a onesie. Only the bottom of the onesie will end up in the finished dress (under the skirt), so you can use a stained onesie for this project. The top part will just be used to create a pattern for a new bodice. Go to her tutorial.

Sewing your own baby clothes is very satisfying. It’s one of the precious times when we as parents get to choose what our children wear without complaint. Dressing your baby in unique handmade clothing makes for wonderful photos and keepsakes too. As children get older they can select their own fabrics and become part of the sewing process.
