Staci from Crafty Staciposts on her blog with a tutorial showing how to make a pan protector that doubles as a hot pad. The quilted fabric circles will protect the surface of your pans when they’re stacked in the cabinet. Because it uses Insul-brite as the lining, you can also use it as a hot pad. Great idea!! Get the tute.

Potholders, hot pads also known as Heat pads are perfect little weeknight projects. Perfect for scrap fabrics and small handmade gifts that will actually be used in the kitchen. If you love hot pads as much as I do, then you may want to check out some of our favorite designs for sewing patterns we found on Etsy.

I am looking for a bag to carry hot 9X13 dishes to potlucks. Do you have any patterns?

You can make a carrier for 13×9 pans out of placemats. I have made several. Mine has 2 handles that go from the bottom up the sides and also has a velcro closure on one short end – closed the other 3 sides.
