I have button phobia. I don’t fear making the buttonhole itself, but the buttonplacement can make me a crazy woman. No sooner do I have the button perfectly stitched and well-secured than I stand back and notice that the button has moved while I was sewing it down. Does this happen to you? Joan from Lazy Girl Designs shares a tutorial on her blog showing her method for placing and stitching buttons so they end up exactly where you want them. She uses double-sided tape to stick the button down, and then stitches it in by machine. I will definitely be giving this a try the next time I sew down some buttons. Read her tips at Lazy Girl Blog.
