Tutorial: Pottery Barn-inspired Advent calendar sew-along

December 5, 2011 by Anne Weaver

Rach from Family Ever After shares a 5-part sew-along for making this appliqued and embroidered Advent calendar.  It’s inspired by a Pottery Barn Advent calendar that is no longer available for purchase.  Each pocket has a felt applique with a different Christmas-themed image.  The pockets take some time to complete, but it looks to be fairly portable.  You could work on the hand stitching while watching TV, waiting at dr’s office, or sitting in the pick-up line at school.

Go to Part 1 for the supply list.

Go to Part 2 to see how to cut it out.

Go to Part 3 for the designs of each pocket.

Go to Part 4 to see how the pockets look all stitched up.

Go to Part 5 to see the finished Advent calendar.
