Jess from The Sewing Rabbit shows how you can sew a pillow backpack that can help a homeless person carry their belongings and have a soft place to rest their head. Rather than just a sew-it-quick-and-cheap project, she designed this bag with the comfort of the wearer in mind. The outside is made from a sturdy home dec fabric, but it’s lined in a soft fleece it can be turned inside out for a soft place to rest your head. The straps tuck out of the way while it’s in pillow mode, and there’s a hidden waterproof zipper pocket to keep personal items safe. This would make a beautiful and thoughtful way to remember those the less fortunate among us this Christmas.

Gifting to the homeless? how about a roll-up all-weather sleeping bag. Lightweight and easy to carry.
